Copilot

Copilot is part of the AI package. It drafts messages and the pieces around them, such as segments, journeys, forms and templates. Nothing it drafts goes live until someone on your team approves it. It also turns a plain-language description into a first draft in each builder.

Copilot’s drafts arrive as proposals under AI → Approvals. Each proposal shows what it would create or send. Approve it, reject it, or change it first.

While a proposal is pending, each of its drafts has an Edit button. Your edit replaces the agent’s version, and approving sends or creates exactly what you saved.

Draft What you can edit
Broadcast Subject, body, and each version (label, subject, body). You can remove a version.
Message template The same as a broadcast, plus the name.
Segment, journey, form, tracking plan The name and the definition.

Edits are checked with the same rules the builders use. A segment must be valid, a journey’s steps must connect, a form must be publishable, and a tracking plan needs an event name. Personalization may only use {{traits.*}} placeholders. A problem is shown next to the field it’s about, so you can fix it before approving instead of having the approval fail.

Once a proposal has been approved or rejected, it can’t be edited.

Approval never puts a reusable piece live without a builder check:

  • Templates are created as drafts. Open the template builder to check the render and activate it. Other journeys and broadcasts can reuse a template, so activating it is a review step of its own.
  • Forms are created unpublished, journeys and tracking plans disabled.
  • Broadcasts send as approved.

Editing and approving both need the broadcasts:write permission.

Each builder can start from a description. Choose Describe it, say what you want in plain language, and choose Draft it. Copilot reads your company profile, never anyone’s personal data.

Where Permission
Templates → New template → Describe it templates:write
Journeys workflows:write
Segments segments:write
Forms forms:write

The result is an ordinary draft that you finish in the builder. Nothing is sent or published.

Describe-it templates work for email, SMS, push, in-app, WhatsApp, Telegram and Slack. A description can be up to 2,000 characters.

  • Email drafts are built from the template library’s blocks, such as hero, text, button, cards, quote, callout and footer, under the palette you choose. You can edit every block in the builder. Copilot never guesses a picture: image slots stay empty. A button with no real link gets {{action_url}}. If the draft has no footer, Origamy adds one with the unsubscribe link. A banner in the builder lists each of these notes for you to check.
  • Text channels get plain copy within the channel’s limits. An SMS over 160 characters is flagged with how many segments it will send as.
